CONWAY, Ark. — Creighton needed extra innings to defeat Central Arkansas on Saturday, scoring four runs in the top of the 10th for a 7-3 win.
The Bluejays (2-0) batted around in the 10th inning, scoring four runs on four hits.
Nick Judkins walked to lead off the frame and advanced to second when Scott Thornburg followed with a single, his second hit of the day. Mike Gerber then doubled to left-center field, scoring Judkins and advancing Thornburg to third. Alex Staehely drove in Thornburg with a sacrifice fly to right field.
The Bluejays then loaded the bases after Brennan Murphy and Jordan Makovicka were hit by pitches, and Michael Mutcheson blooped a ball just over second base that scored Thornburg and Murphy.
Creighton goes for the series sweep at 1 p.m. Sunday.
